CHAPEL HILL HEIRLOOM PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHER
As a children's photographer, every session brings its own unique charm, but my recent photoshoot with this sweet one-year-old boy in Chapel Hill was particularly memorable.
Working with young children often means thinking on your feet and being flexible. This sweet boy was a little bit reserved when I first arrived at his house to set up my mobile studio. I wanted to make sure we captured his full personality though, so it was important to help him feel at ease. Turned out all we needed to truly capture his personality was one of his favorite ride-on cars! Once he realized I was there to have some fun, his playful spirit shone through in every shot. It’s moments like these that remind me why I love what I do. Originally, the session was planned to capture a single charcoal portrait of the first birthday boy. However, we ended up with such a wide range of expression from him, it quickly became clear that we had the makings of more than just one portrait. So his parents decided to include a five-image black and white composite Portrait Study in their order. Once you've admired this Charcoal of him, go check out his Portrait Study for more glimpses to his sweet personality! Mom and Dad also decided to create petite charcoal portraits to gift to grandparents, spreading the happiness even further. This was a really fun order to deliver!
The finished portraits were more than just pictures; they were memories framed and ready to be cherished forever. We presented the main portraits elegantly framed, perfect for hanging on the wall.
Seeing the joy these portraits brought to his family was the highlight of the experience. It’s always a special feeling to know that my work will be a part of their home and their memories for years to come. Here’s to many more sessions filled with laughter, love, and, sometimes, toy cars!
