My most cherished childhood memories are the vacations we took as a family during the summer. There was only a handful of them, and according to my parents, they were usually wrought with drama -- cars breaking down, traffic, lodging plans falling through, and other adult worries. Yet my childhood recollection of them includes none of that -- simply togetherness, sandy toes, salty air and funny little mishaps we laughed about then, and laugh harder about now.
