I met him over a decade ago- the cutest baby boy wearing blue and white. Perfect little rosebud lips, big eyes and a serious disposition. Every year we documented another piece of his childhood, of his life. His personality grew, he was a serious toddler, then a silly preschooler; he was a big brother now, and then one of the big kids. Another year, another year, another year, and now he's a tween. Just like that. His baby face is fading away, and every once in a while you can catch tiny glimpses of the man he'll soon become. Even though he's still little, it's getting more obvious that chapter of his childhood is coming to a close. This was the perfect time for his charcoal heirloom portrait painting. During his photography session at my studio in Garner, Andrew and I worked together to showcase the uniqueness of this stage of his childhood, and the results were stunning...
