NORTH CAROLINA CHILDREN'S HEIRLOOM PORTRAIT ARTIST
Happy New Year from all of us at Dana Ashlyn Photography!! 2021 was such a great year, it's going to be hard to beat! Last year, we added so many new clients to our studio family and created dozens of heirloom portraits for their little ones. We also had many new families meet us for outdoor portraits, and met tons of new little ones when they joined us for our beloved Dear Santa event! What an absolutely awesome year; thank you 2021! We can't wait to see what 2022 brings, and look forward to continuing to watch these children grow up in front of our lens throughout the years to come.
For me, January is always a month of reflection. After the fall and Christmas rush, the studio is usually fairly quiet for a few weeks. It gives me some down time when I can look through the last year's photography sessions, revisit those client experiences, browse the portraits that resulted from them, and see where I can tweak my process to continue to serve my clients the best way possible. Far and away, my children's heirloom portrait line is what stands out as the highlight of 2021. I am so incredibly passionate about these classic and timeless portraits, and watching my clients fall in love with them has brought an overwhelming level of joy to my little artist's heart. The process of creating an heirloom portrait for a child is such an amazing experience. I get to meet these precious little kids and capture exactly who they are right in this moment. The resulting artwork is simple and yet profound somehow; no competing elements, no distracting props, just the heart and soul of this little one captured forever, a treasure for generations.
I am moving forward and embracing 2022 with a heart filled with gratitude. I truly love being a photographer and portrait artist; I love working with your children and families and watching them grow and change; and I love serving my hometown of Raleigh, NC and seeing it become home to so many new families.
Thank you, friends for one of the best years of my life. The best is yet to come!
