My absolute favorite children's portraits are black and white images. Being a bit of a minimalist at heart, the simplicity of a classic black and white studio headshot really speaks to me. Though uncluttered and beautifully uncomplicated, there's nothing "simple" about how deeply heartfelt these images are. I have loved watching as so many of these precious portraits have left my studio over the last few months. My absolute favorite part of this whole process is delivering the finished portrait art and seeing as the parents and loved ones just stare into the eyes of their sweet little ones. There is nothing more timeless and classic than a vignette black and white photograph. 

This young man and I worked together at my photography studio right outside of Raleigh to capture this perfect expression we then used to create his charcoal heirloom portrait. The final portrait was printed on 100% hand torn museum grade cotton, floated against a pure cotton mat, and framed with a solid wood frame crafted in Italy.
