RALEIGH DURHAM MOMMY AND ME PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHER
Mommy & Me photography is always so special, but I especially love when I get to do an heirloom portrait of a mother and child. This sweet girl was SO happy for her photography session with her mommy! She belly laughed her way through this session, and was done in about 10 minutes. Such an easy process to yield such a gorgeous piece of art for these precious memories of theirs. You can see the love and adoration they each have for the other in these portraits, and it was such an honor to pause this moment for them.
What makes an Heirloom Portrait special?
Creating an heirloom portrait begins in the planning. Special focus is taken to choose classic clothing, moving away from trendy or distracting elements and focusing instead on simplicity and timelessness. In the styling of the image captures, we again focus on crisp, clean and simple images that aren't marked by industry trends at the time, which will eventually date your portraits. Something I try to remind my clients of frequently is the fact that we always like trends in the moment, but just a handful of years later and we see how distracting and dated they actually were. With a piece of portrait art that is going to hang on your wall forever, it's important to get it right with the styling of the photography session itself. But we can't stop there, and we don't! Once we have the perfect images captured, each heirloom portrait is printed on museum grade pure cotton, and matted against a museum grade mat. It is then finished off with conservation grade framing and ready to hang on your wall. When properly cared for, your heirloom portrait's lifespan is greater than 200 years. For these precious memories that deserve the best, heirloom portraits deliver in every possible way.
