FAMILY OUTDOOR PHOTOGRAPHY - RALEIGH, NC
One of the most important decisions you will make regarding your portrait session is the wardrobe. Yes, it is important you like your clothing choices in the present, but it is way more important that 25 years from now you still love what you chose today. Because the truth is, we don't take portraits as much for the "now" as we do for the "later". Once this moment is over, one of your greatest treasures will be these photographs that you're planning right now. And when that time comes, you'll want to study the faces of your children and loved ones - to see their sweet expressions, to remember the connections between them, to feel the heart and soul of this moment, without wincing at the clothing choices you made today. We are always here to help you plan the wardrobe for your family photography session; it doesn't have to be overwhelming!
Here are a few tips and tricks to get you started:

* A note about trendy styles: They're always fun in the moment, and they certainly have their place as church, party and everyday clothes. But it's not until a few years later we realize exactly how dated those trends were (hello, 80's hair). To complicate things further, some styles cleverly masquerade as classic. For instance, smocking is classic, but smocked cartoon characters is not. Some forms of gingham are wonderfully timeless, but some gingham is mixed with applique styles and isn't. If you have questions, always reach out for help. We are happy to help you find a style you will love now AND will still love later!
