We are so proud to announce the 16th consecutive year for Dear Santa! This event is NOW BOOKING. Investment and FAQs are below if you'd like to browse those details in advance.
PRICING:
- The Session fee for Dear Santa is $25 for the first subject and $10 for each additional subject. The Dear Santa Collection is $399 and includes your choice of five digital images. Upgrades and additional products are available.
- A $100 retainer will be taken to secure your time.
- Your $100 retainer applies to your portrait collection and the balance is due the day of your session.
- "COUSIN" sessions require 2 consecutive appointment times and 2 separate collections (one for each booking; subject to the availability of 2 back to back appointment times). Cousins CAN NOT be photographed in one appointment time.

Didn't Santa retire? Our precious Santa has granted us an encore for one more year. We are so happy to be together with him and all of you for one more year, and we will move forward with a new Santa for 2023.
How fast will the event book? This is a hard thing to predict. I can only base this answer on the history of past events which have all booked solid in less than a day.
How are appointments assigned? This event is not simply first come first serve. Appointments are booked based on client history, and/or with consideration to the remaining availability we have and the group size / children's ages that appointment time is able to accommodate.
Why didn't I get an appointment? The most common reason why you may have not received an appointment time is your children's ages don't work within our remaining availability or the event was fully booked by the time we got your request. However, Dana Ashlyn Photography, INC also reserves the right to refuse appointments to anyone who has a history of being late for past appointments, failure to order from past sessions, or anyone who has past due invoices. Appointments are based solely on our discretion.
Why do I have to pay a retainer? The retainer is taken essentially as "earnest money" for your appointment time; it's to insure that you're committed to your time with Santa and aren't going to last minute cancel or no show. MANY people aren't able to get appointments due to the limited availability of this event. The $100 retainer credits to your portrait order, with the balance of your portrait collection being due the day of your Dear Santa session.
If the event is booked but I really want it, what should I do? Email us anyway! We'll add you to the waiting list, and you never know! Many times single children and children over a certain age are able to snag an appointment! But even if you have multiple kiddos or young children, it's still recommended you request an appointment. We will put your name on the cancellation list, and will let you know if a time opens up.
Can we take family portraits at the Dear Santa event? NO, the set is too small to add adults.
Can we bring a pet? NO.
Will my portraits be delivered by Christmas? Yes, as long as you finalize your selections by the appropriate deadline.
Can you break down the cost? Sure! Let's assume you have 2 children. The session fee for the first child is $25 and the second is $10. Your portrait collection is $399 and that includes 5 digital images. Your investment is $434 plus tax. You will pay $100 towards that cost when you reserve your appointment and the balance of $334 + tax on the whole total will be due the day of the event. Upgrades such as wall portraits, greeting cards, ornaments or additional images are available but not required.
