We had a full and busy day with photography sessions at the park this past Saturday. We started the day in Raleigh and ended the day in Wake Forest - it was a whirlwind full of family and children's portraits. After our last shoot, we packed up equipment and hit the road towards home. I glanced at the clock and then back out the window. The light was fading fast and it was twilight at a time when, just weeks ago, it would have been daylight still. Subtle reminders that summer is already writing her final chapters. The pages keep turning...

I love summertime and autumn photo sessions equally, both for different reasons. But there is just something so special about late sunsets and barefooted children chasing fireflies as we wrap up their evening portraits. Time moves a little slower, and we linger a little longer soaking it all in. Yes, autumn will be here soon. But for now the evening breezes are still warm and golden light still wraps around our subjects in a way only summertime gives.
